Why Coaching Was the Missing Piece in My Healing Journey

Over the years, I’ve tried so many forms of therapy—CBT, EMDR, hypnosis—and each one has been a meaningful part of my healing. These modalities helped me uncover old patterns, process deep emotions, and make sense of parts of myself that I had buried or misunderstood. They allowed me to slow down, to sit with my past, and to begin healing it piece by piece.

Therapy gave me insight.
And for that, I’m deeply grateful.

But something shifted when I began coaching—because it met me in a different place. I wasn’t just trying to heal anymore. I was ready to move forward.

What coaching did was help me shift from focusing on what I didn’t want… to getting clear on what I do want. It helped me stop circling the same stories and start building a new one.

Coaching helped me:

  • Create habits that support the life I’m actually trying to build

  • Reframe the inner dialogue that used to hold me back

  • Take real, aligned action—not just in theory, but in practice

  • Anchor into who I am becoming, not just who I’ve been

It was a shift from processing to creating. From insight to momentum. From surviving to consciously shaping what’s next.

That’s not to say coaching replaces therapy—far from it. Therapy helped me heal. Coaching helped me grow.

And the truth is, both have been invaluable. Just in different seasons and for different reasons.

So if you’re someone who has done the deep inner work… who has faced the past, tended to the wounds, and now feels a quiet (or loud!) nudge to start building something new—I can’t recommend coaching enough.

You don’t have to do it alone. And you don’t have to do it perfectly. You just have to be willing to take the first small step.
